Bent, But Not Broken: Download and Party!
Sat, Mar. 19, 2011
From our guitar teacher Matt Clark:
I am inviting you to purchase “Bent, But Not Broken”
, a song about the resiliency of the human spirit. Producing this track involved the help of some of the greatest musicians in New Orleans, including the unique talents of Ivan Neville, Paul Sanchez, “Sista Teedy” Boutte
and many more. “Bent, but Not Broken”
is an homage to a city that has welcomed me like family and changed my life. It has been a six month labor of love to produce a song I wrote when I first arrived in Nola in 2007. The proceeds from the sale of this song will benefit SilenceIsViolence.
My goal is to raise $500,000 this year to assist in this worthy mission.
The song is available on Itunes and each download brings me closer to the goal. Your support is greatly appreciated..
Attached below, you will find a link to the track on Itunes AND a one-minute video documenting the making of this song, “Bent, But Not Broken” Enjoy this video as a added bonus!
Thank you kindly and keep on keeping on!!
SilenceIsViolence will be hosting a party for Matt with a live performance of Bent, Not Broken on Sunday, April 3rd at noon at the Sound Cafe, 2700 Chartres 70117. The performance will kick off the New Orleans Bayou Steppers Social Aid and Pleasure Club's annual parade, that will then proceed from the Sound Cafe at 1:30pm. Please join us to celebrate the music, the organization, and the kids that are involved! And download the song!
