Hi, everyone.

48 HOURS FEATURES DINERRAL AND HELEN

This Saturday evening, October 13, CBS 48 Hours will feature the stories of Dinerral Shavers and Helen Hill, their contributions to New Orleans, and the tremedous impact their violent deaths have had on the city and on citizen engagement in public safety. The efforts of SilenceIsViolence and our founding interest in these two cases will comprise part of the 48 Hours story, which will air on Saturday night at 9pm central time. Watch if you can, and on Monday call the Andre Trevigne show on 99.5FM with your reactions: Andre and Baty will hold a follow-up conversation about the CBS program around 12:30pm. YOUTH MUSIC CLINICS NEED INSTRUMENTS!

The response to our Fall Youth Music Clinics has been terrific, and we need more instruments to accommodate all of the children who want to participate! If you are in a position to donate or loan any of the following, please call Baty at 948-0917 to arrange a pick-up:

Drums/percussion instruments

Tuba

Trumpet

Beginner violin

Right-handed guitar

The clinics are open to the public, so stop by on Tuesday evening if you can. The clinics will continue every Tuesday between 6 and 8pm until Thanksgiving. Special thanks to the Savvy Gourmet for sponsoring the participants’ dinners for the next two weeks, to Renew Our Music and the Musicians Clinic for sponsoring the musical coaching, and especially to Fest4Kidz for their support.
