Be an Agent of Peace

This Sunday, the Rock-N-Bowl welcomes SilenceIsViolence back for our second fundraiser. The event will take place between 7pm and 10pm, and will feature music by Shamarr Allen and his SilenceIsViolence All-Stars; interactive art by YA/YA; and a silent auction of peace-oriented and soul-serving prizes. Proceeds will benefit SilenceIsViolence programs and the Social Aid and Pleasure Club Task Force.
SilenceIsViolence currently runs four program areas: Peace Clubs in RSD schools; after-school outreach through clinics in music, writing, and the visual arts; criminal justice engagement, especially through the Victim Allies Project; and our City Walks, co-hosted by SilenceIsViolence and the Social Aid and Pleasure Club Task Force. There are more details about all of these programs on our website, www.silenceisviolence.org, and all of them depend upon the community's support! With the November 8 fundraiser, we hope to raise enough money to sustain and expand all of our programs through the coming spring months.
Please support community-based peace efforts by becoming a patron-level Peace Agent ($50), or by purchasing a general admission ticket to our event ($15). And please spread the word, about the benefit and about all of SilenceIsViolence's activities!
